The NTBCA runs several programs to effectively connect the business and cultural communities in North Texas. The Leadership Arts Institute, now in its twentieth year, trains business professionals for board leadership and places them with cultural institutions throughout North Texas. Over 1,000 corporate executives have graduated from this program, leading to the Leadership Arts Institute Alumni association, where graduates of the program continue to network and provide volunteer services that create stability and accountability for North Texas arts organizations. NTBCA's Economic Impact Study, conducted every three years in partnership with Deloitte LLP, demonstrates the economic value contributed to our community through the work of North Texas arts organizations. In 2006, that number was $828.6 M. The annual On My Own Time employee art exhibits celebrate the creativity and initiative of employees who create art after hours. In addition, NTBCA leverages corporate support of the arts by providing marketing consultations to tie corporate giving to business strategy, and offers recognition and publicity for corporate philanthropy through its annual Obelisk Awards. From cultural tourism initiatives to project matchmaking, NTBCA helps business and government decision makers understand the benefits of a strong arts industry as an engine for economic development. By fostering effective arts management, volunteer leadership and broader investments, the NTBCA works for the business community on behalf of the arts community.
