NTC Launches Signature Series Presented by Fidelity Investments
Bill Lively, North Texas Super Bowl Host Committee president and CEO, will speak at the first North Texas Commission Signature Series presented by Fidelity Investments luncheon on Monday, Nov. 9, at noon at the Omni Mandalay Hotel in Las Colinas. Lively will discuss the opportunities of economic development the upcoming Super Bowl XLV will provide for the region, and those interested in serving as a volunteer will be able to sign up at the luncheon.
The North Texas Commission Signature Series is a new quarterly luncheon program aimed at hosting speakers discussing regional issues and topics. The next program will be held Feb. 2, 2010, with former George W. Bush advisor Dan Bartlett, and BNSF Railway President and CEO Matt Rose will serve as keynote speaker for the August 2010 event.
In addition to Fidelity Investments’ support, ATC Logistics & Electronics, Mansfield Economic Development Corporation and Verizon Communication/Verizon Wireless have committed to serving as Silver Series sponsors. Sponsors for the Nov. 9 luncheon include the Town of Addison as a Silver sponsor and Fluor, McKinney Convention & Visitors Bureau and the University of North Texas as a Table Hosts.

November and December Webinars Announced for North Texas Commission’s Topic: North Texas Series
The North Texas Commission continues its new Topic: North Texas Webinar series in November and December. Dr. Bud Weinstein, associate director for the Maguire Energy Institute at SMU’s Cox School of Business, will lead a presentation on the North Texas economy entitled “The Great Economic Unraveling of 2008-2010: Impacts on the U.S. and Texas” followed by a 30 minute question and answer session on Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 10 a.m.
On December 1 at 10 a.m., former Fort Worth Mayor and 2007-2009 NTC Chairman Kenneth Barr will lead a presentation discussing the importance of regional collaboration and the benefits that come with cooperation from public and private entities. This Webinar will also feature a 30 minute question and answer session immediately following the presentation.
