Topic: North Texas Webinar series announces spring dates, topics
The NTC announced the spring lineup for its new Webinar series, Topic: North Texas with topics to discuss public-private partnerships, the North Texas real estate industry and the future of our workforce. Topic: North Texas is a free Webinar series discussing key assets and challenges our region faces.
On Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 10 a.m., Topic: North Texas will explore the “Financial Tools and Public-Private Partnerships” presented by Elizabeth Jones and David Epperson of the UT Dallas Center for Finance Strategy Innovation and Greg Hirsch of ETB Systems Inc.
In today’s re-emerging financial environment, governments and private companies alike are looking for new ways to finance projects of all sizes. One method gaining new found momentum in the United States is the public-private partnership (PPP). Implemented correctly, PPPs have proved successful in developing a wide variety of projects. By contrast, poorly constructed PPPs can leave a legacy of public cynicism and distrust. Policymakers and professional managers are taking a growing interest in learning about the tools and techniques needed to ensure successful PPP development and deployment in their jurisdictions.
On Tuesday, March 2, at 10 a.m., Rich Thomas, CEO of MetroTex Association of Realtors, will lead a discussion on the North Texas real estate market and what the industry expects from 2010.
Candy Slocum, Executive Director of North Central Texas InterLink, will lead the Tuesday, April 6, Webinar on “The Future of Work” and how career and technical education is preparing our future workforce.
In addition to these topics, a special Webinar is being planned to discuss the healthcare debate and what it could mean for North Texans. All Webinars are free and open to the public.
