Joint hearing in Austin to discuss transportation issues

The Texas House Committee on Transportation and the Texas Senate Committee on Transportation and Homeland Security are meeting together on Monday, Feb. 1, at 8 a.m. in the House Appropriations Committee hearing room E1.030. Arlington Mayor Robert Cluck, Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert and Fort Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief are planning to testify at the hearing.

“Committees from the House and Senate meeting together in a joint hearing is not an everyday occurrence,” said Vic Suhm, senior consultant for the North Texas Commission. “This hearing signifies that an issue – in this case transportation – is timely and important to the Texas Legislature.”
