Worth Blake retires as North Texas Aviation Marketing Committee liaison
Worth Blake opens his retirement gift from the NTAMC.
After 28 years of service to the North Texas Commission, Worth Blake is retiring as the staff liaison for the North Texas Aviation Marketing Committee. Linda Burns, founder and principal of Burns Development Group, will be taking Blake’s place. Blake’s dedication to the region, the North Texas Commission and the North Texas Aviation Marketing Committee was honored during a luncheon on Jan. 20.
Blake began his career with the North Texas Commission in 1972 as the Director for Regional Development. During this time, he was instrumental in launching the NTC and was directly in charge of the international marketing staff and served as the economic development liaison to the Commission’s foreign offices in Tokyo and London. From there, Blake served as the NTC’s vice president of regional development and was president from 1979-1986. Blake began leading the North Texas Aviation Marketing Committee in 2004.

He puts his heart into every project he initiates for the North Texas Aviation Marketing Committee,” said Dan S. Petty, president and CEO of the North Texas Commission. “We wish Worth well in his retirement and welcome Linda Burns to the team.”

Prior to starting her own economic development consulting and site selection support firm, Burns served as the director of economic development for the Dallas Regional Chamber for nine years. In this role, she assisted economic development organizations throughout North Texas with business relocations and expansions and marketing. Burns is a member of the Super Bowl XLV Host Committee Aviation Action Team, serves on the North Central Texas Council of Governments Air Transportation Technical Advisory, is president-elect of CoreNet Global Southwest Commercial real estate organization and served on the Love Field Airport Master Plan Advisory Committee.
Under Burns’ guidance, the NTAMC will remain active in the annual National Business Aviation Association trade show, as well as explore additional opportunities for promoting the region’s general aviation and reliever airports.
