What do you think 2010 holds for North Texas’ nonprofit and community organizations?

Nonprofits, like businesses and municipalities, met some of the same challenges during the past year. We asked some North Texas nonprofit leaders to give their thoughts on what 2010 will hold for nonprofit and community organizations.

Cynthia B. Nunn

“As an important and resilient group, be poised for a promising future by capitalizing on lessons learned and stewarding donors - times tough or times good!”
    – Cynthia B. Nunn, president of Center for Nonprofit Management

Tim McKinney

“For North Texas’ nonprofit and community organizations, 2010 can be an opportunity to take bold – but strategically thoughtful – action that will be beneficial.”
    – Tim McKinney, the president and CEO of United Way of Tarrant County

Jim Falk

“Most nonprofits have adapted to the painful challenges of 2009 and are looking forward to the New Year with determination and optimism.”
    – Jim Falk, President & CEO World Affairs Council; President, Greater Dallas Chapter, Association of Fundraising Professionals

Katherine Wagner

“In 2010 North Texas will continue to innovate, but our creative thinking will be directed toward sustaining our cultural institutions and building excellence rather than building new projects and edifices.”
    – Katherine Wagner, CEO of North Texas Business for Culture and the Artsl

Nancy Williams

“Nonprofits fall into a unique position of having to prove their value and be able to react to the constituents they serve. In the case of membership organizations, such as a chamber, the North Texas Commission or The Health Industry Council, we need to be sure we are providing our members with support and information that benefits their companies. We, by design, are a neutral entity and are planning programs to bring “best practices” and latest information to our members wherever they fall within the industry. Of our 20 year history, 2009 was our best year and we expect even more support and growth for the coming year.”
    – Nancy Williams, President, The Health Industry Council
