Leadership North Texas is a graduate-level, regional leadership program designed to recruit, develop and support leaders who have a commitment to civic engagement and to the North Texas region.

Lancaster Municipal Airport is extending its runway by 1,500 feet.
Construction on a 1,500-foot runway and taxi extension began in early December at Lancaster Municipal Airport. In addition to extending the 5,000-foot runway, Lancaster Municipal Airport will upgrade Runways 13/31 with an inch of asphalt overlay.

The Texas House Committee on Transportation and the Texas Senate Committee on Transportation and Homeland Security are meeting together on Monday, Feb. 1, at 8 a.m. in the House Appropriations Committee hearing room E1.030. Worth Blake opens his retirement gift from the NTAMC.
After 28 years of service to the North Texas Commission, Worth Blake is retiring as the staff liaison for the North Texas Aviation Marketing Committee. Linda Burns, founder and principal of Burns Development Group, will be taking Blake’s place. Blake's dedication to the region, the North Texas Commission and the North Texas Aviation Marketing Committee was honored during a luncheon on Jan. 20.

Donation enables NTFF to build needed training capacity
The North Texas Future Fund received a grant of $65,000 from the Verizon Foundation to fund the organization’s workplace literacy project in cooperation with regional employers from a cross-section of industries and with professional educators from area community colleges. The North Texas Future Fund is a program of the North Texas Commission. Read More

The North Texas Clean Air Coalition elected its slate of officers and board of directors for 2010, Jennifer Cohen, project director for the North Texas Clean Air Coalition announced this month.
The newly named board of directors is responsible for guiding and directing the North Texas Clean Air Coalition in its mission to educate, engage and recognize the business community’s efforts to improve air quality in our region. Read More
