Super Bowl XLV to North Texas in 2011 9.20.07 Irving, August 20, 2007 – In celebration of Super Bowl XLV to be held in North Texas in 2011, the North Texas Commission (NTC) will host its 2007 Annual Membership Luncheon at noon on Thursday, Sept. 20 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel at 2201 N. Stemmons Freeway featuring Dallas Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones as the keynote speaker. Special guests include Arlington Mayor Robert Cluck, Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert, Fort Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief, Robert Dale Morgan with ProActive Consulting and the members of the Super Bowl XLV Bidding Committee. Jones will present the keynote address, focusing on regional cooperation in bringing the Super Bowl to North Texas along with the great economic impact and global recognition that North Texas will experience from Super Bowl XLV. The Super Bowl will bring the world’s attention to the Metroplex and it is estimated to generate $400 million in economic activity for the region. Additionally Jones will provide an update on the new Cowboy’s stadium, which is slated to open in 2009, and the great asset it is going to be for our area. At this year’s event, NTC will recognize regional cooperation - successfully bringing Super Bowl XLV to North Texas in 2011. The Super Bowl will be played at the Dallas Cowboys’ new stadium in Arlington, Texas, where close to 100,000 fans will fill the stadium for the NFL’s Super Bowl XLV. "North Texas has shown time and again that the region will always come together to meet major challenges,” says H. Dan Farell, NTC board chairman. “North Texas represents regional cooperation with effective leaders focusing on all the key issues – including regional economic development. Jerry’s presence will be most fitting to address the region on this grand event…Super Bowl XLV."
