Ad Hoc Program Committees & Task Forces

  • Annual Membership Luncheon Planning Committee
    This committee plans and sets policy for the annual meeting of NTC membership. It is appointed by the chairman of the board.

  • Logistics Development and Marketing Committee
    This committee develops and markets the logistics assets of the D/FW Metroplex in association with area colleges and universities so that it may become the warehousing and distribution center for all North America.

  • North Central Texas InterLink, Inc. Board and Committees
    NTC supports and monitors the North Central Texas InterLink, Inc., a regional quality work force planning organization founded in 1987. InterLink is a 501(c)(3) partnership among business, education and government entities which works to improve work force development in the region and helps to match the supply and demand of a skilled labor force. The board helps make policy and direct the activities of the organization.

  • North Texas Aviation Marketing Committee
    This committee promotes the North Texas area as the “world center of aviation” and works with all segments of the international and domestic aviation industry, regional general aviation airports, governments and aviation businesses.
    Chairman: Cynthia Godfrey, Mesquite Metro Airport.
Standing Committees

  • NTC Board of Directors
    The Board of Directors authorizes North Texas Commission committees, operations, projects and events. Directors are elected from among leading NTC members.

  • Executive Committee
    The Executive Committee oversees and evaluates the progress of the North Texas Commission’s program of work. Members are elected from the NTC Board of Directors.

  • Finance and Audit Committee
    The Finance Committee monitors the commission’s financial performance and policies. It recommends monetary changes to the NTC Board and Executive Committee as necessary. It is appointed by the chairman of the board.

  • Nominating Committee
    This committee nominates new board members and officers. It is appointed by the chairman of the board.

  • North Texas Future Fund Board of Directors and North Texas Future Fund Advisory Panel
    The NTFF is a sister 501(c)(3) corporation to NTC and is designed to identify, study and seek long-term solutions for regional issues. The NTC Executive Committee serves as the NTFF Board of Directors and recommends members for the NTFF Advisory Panel.

Regional Coalitions and Affiliations

  • Dallas-Fort Worth Area Partners in Mobility
    The Partners in Mobility (PIM) is a broad-based, public-private coalition created in 1995 by NTC and others to provide effective advocacy for the region’s surface transportation needs. NTC is one of six entities with two appointees in the coalition steering committee. Nearly 200 people from North Texas comprise the PIM delegation that travels to Austin annually for a reception and a presentation to the Texas Transportation Commission, and in years in which the Texas Legislature is in session, to visit with legislators regarding the region’s surface transportation needs.

  • BIODFW
    In 2002, the North Texas Commission, Dallas/Fort Worth Health Industry Council, and the Fort Worth and Dallas Chambers of Commerce formed this partnership of ogranizations, universities and industry members involved in the Life Sciene arena to share and collaborate about the development of the bio-tech industry in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

  • Texas Urban Transportation Alliance
    An alliance formed in 2002 to urge the Texas Transportation Commission and the Texas Legislature to declare urban mobility a Texas priority and to take specific actions to address the growing threat to the Texas economy posed by rising roadway congestion in the metro areas. It is an alliance of existing organizations that have in common the interest of better addressing the surface transportation needs in urban areas of Texas.

  • North Texas Clean Air Coalition Executive Board
    The North Texas Clean Air Coalition, a joint effort of NTC, the Greater Dallas and Fort Worth Chambers and North Central Texas Council of Governments, helps increase community awareness of the air quality problem in North Texas and its solutions. The NTCAC Executive Board helps set policy and plan the yearly public awareness campaign. NTCAC also has a Marketing and EducationCommittee.

  • North Texas Clean Air Steering Committee
    NTC is a part of the North Texas Clean Air Steering Committee, a regional advocacy coalition of business and civic leaders formed in 1999, to formulate strategies in the State Implementation Plan to reduce emissions that pollute the air, cause health problems and jeopardize the region’s mobility and economic vitality.

  • North Texas Water Resources Coalition
    A coalition of the region’s water suppliers was formed by NTC in 1997 following passage of the Senate Bill 1 that rewrote Texas law governing water resource planning and development. The coalition was formed to preserve, protect and enhance North Texas water rights and interests. It is a vehicle by which the region can speak with one voice on water matters.

  • Texas Clean Air Working Group
    Participants of TCAWG include EPA Region 6, The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and citizens and organizations (including NTC) from Texas’ non-attainment and near non-attainment areas. Legislative committee staff and some legislators also participate. The purpose is to share information to help Texas achieve compliance with the Federal Clean Air Act. TCAWG has been successful in improving communications and in developing a common agenda that has led to passage of important legislation to assist with clean air compliance.
