FAQ
What is the North Texas Commission?
Founded in 1971, the North Texas Commission (NTC) is a regional non-profit team of businesses, cities, counties, chambers of commerce, economic development entities and higher education institutions in the North Texas Region. A directory of members is available under the "Membership" tab of this site.
What does NTC do?
The North Texas Commission works to improve and promote the economic prosperity and quality of life of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex by seeking solutions to regional issues and identifying key opportunities that will enhance the North Texas Region. NTC leads and coordinates the building of regional alliances to support these key initiatives. NTC has active programs in areas such as aviation, transportation, environment, and long-range strategies and participates in many regional alliances and coalitions.
How is NTC different from a chamber of commerce?
The North Texas Commission represents the entire 12-county Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex rather than just one community. NTC chooses to work on issues, challenges and opportunities that can best be addressed cooperatively as a region. It is the only organization in North Texas that brings together the leadership of the public, private, non-profit and higher education sectors to address regional concerns.
Who can join the NTC?
Any North Texas business, city, county, chamber of commerce, economic development entity or higher education institution may join the North Texas Commission. For an application or to inquire about dues structure, call Marcellette Sherman at 972.621.0400 or Click here for more information.
Why should I join the North Texas Commission?
North Texas Commission memberships provide the resources to carry out programs that benefit the entire region. The success of NTC programs helps ensure an improving business environment and quality of life for the more than six million citizens of the D/FW Metroplex - including you, your employees and your organization. Involvement in Commission programs provides members an opportunity to participate in the development and implementation of regional strategies while meeting and interacting with other NTC members. Members receive informative publications and are also invited to attend NTC functions including the annual membership luncheon, membership receptions and tours, as well as breakfast and luncheon briefings with expert speakers on timely business and public policy issues. NTC membership also demonstrates that your organization is a responsible and concerned member of the broader regional community. Area business and civic leaders have long looked to NTC to facilitate consensus on regional issues, but if there has ever been a need for regional unity and strength, it is now.
