The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is unique. Home to 7.5 million people, North Texas is one of the fastest growing regions in the U.S. We are currently the nation’s 4th largest region, and we are quickly making our way to the top three as we have 15 cities with a population of more than 100,000. We are proud to have a diverse, strong economy with a positive future trajectory.
A region as unique as ours needs a special kind of organization to serve it. That is why the North Texas Commission exists.
Nearly 50 years ago, our forefathers came together to launch an organization to help develop a new regional airport – DFW International Airport. Once our airport was up and running, they realized an even greater potential for our region, and thus the need for an organization to unify all stakeholders.
Today, we are a unique public-private partnership that drives large impactful projects and legislative issues benefiting a robust 13-county region. The Commission tackles the region’s greatest challenges with board and staff subject matter experts who provide resources to market the region and educate future leaders. We manage our region’s unified advocacy voice at the state and federal levels.
We sum up our very focused three pillars of service as: Advocate, Educate, and Collaborate.
We advocate on behalf of our region, with our chambers of commerce and other associations at our side, for issues that have no city or county boundaries. Both our state and federal legislative agendas typically cover issues such as infrastructure development, business and municipal friendly legislation, education/workforce accessibility and diversity protection.
The NTC provides extensive professional training and diversity programming for established and rising leaders. We also inform decision makers from around the world about the benefits of doing business in North Texas through our award-winning publications and digital marketing. And our data/research services are quickly making us the region’s go-to policy think tank to prepare our area for future growth.
Collaboration is deep in our roots. From the region’s top business leaders, our founders who came together in 1971, to leading the bid for Super Bowl XLV, and even today with the development of our legislative priorities – none of it can be accomplished without the region’s stakeholders at the table. We bring our experts – our members – together to help guide us every step of the way.
Whether you are new to our region, or new to the North Texas Commission, we are excited you are here. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you would like to learn more about the NTC and this amazing region we serve.
