Leadership North Texas to Announce Inaugural Class, North Texas Literacy Coalition Launches Survey

Two of the key programs under the North Texas Future Fund umbrella are making great strides.

The inaugural class of Leadership North Texas has been chosen and acceptance letters have been mailed to more than 20 leaders from across the region. This graduate-level leadership class will start Friday, September 25 with a two-day retreat to examine the history of North Texas including a tour of a facility that demonstrates the power of the region working together. From there, over eight program days, the Leadership North Texas class will learn about regionalism, the North Texas Economy, workforce and education, sustainable development, how to build a healthy region and transportation.

Stay tuned for the official announcement of the Leadership North Texas participants.

The North Texas Future Fund’s literacy initiative has identified workplace literacy as a critical program emphasis area. To learn more about this issue, the NTFF developed a Workplace Literacy Survey for three main purposes; to identify workplace need in terms of literacy instruction for employees needing to improve their reading skills in English; to inventory existing workplace literacy programs in the region; and to promote opportunities for volunteerism within the workplace.

As a North Texas employer – whether a private business, local government, chamber of commerce, or higher education institution – a qualified, literate workforce is crucial to sustaining a strong economy for all North Texans. For this reason, we are encouraging every North Texas employer to take a few moments to complete the Workplace Literacy Survey by following the link below. Survey data will be used to determine workplace literacy program capacity and workplace literacy instruction need in order to develop strategies to meet this critical need. Company information will be kept strictly confidential.
