Get Involved with SLANT 45
SLANT 45 is funded by Bank of America and local philanthropists, Ted and Shannon Skokos.
Interested in working with Service Learning Adventures in North Texas, or SLANT 45? The North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee has partnered with Big Thought, a North Texas based nonprofit that focuses on creative learning, to bring one of the most comprehensive youth-education programs in Super Bowl history and one of the largest community-wide, service-learning initiatives in U.S. annals to North Texas’ youngest citizens.
We need individuals like you to help make this program a success. You can be a part of SLANT 45 by encouraging the young people in your life to get involved…or you can be a coach for a SLANT 45 team! It’s simple. Do you have children or grandchildren? A niece or nephew? A friend, student or even a cousin in elementary school?
Encourage them to form a team. With you as the team coach, they’ll brainstorm about a community service project that they want to do – it can be a lemonade stand to raise money for a local charity, a community garden to feed the homeless or anything they dream up. Then, it’s time to register online.
The program will launch early 2010, and you can sign up today on the SLANT 45 website at www.slant45.org. Select “get involved” from the home page and complete your information to sign up to receive the SLANT 45 e-newsletter and be among the first to know when it’s time to register your team.
