2022 Texas Primary Election Results

Yesterday, Texans across the state headed to the polls to cast ballots for the March Primary. After results trickled in throughout the day following last night's election, the Commission has compiled a list of the races that took place across our 13-county region. Below is a summary of the races in the region we have been watching closely. We have also created a list of all competitive primary races for statewide and legislative races in the North Texas region. You can find that here. As a note, these results are unofficial until official canvassing takes place, which will happen within 14 days of the election.
List of Incumbents with Challengers:
• HD 33 – Holland (incumbent)
• Holland won with more than 69% of the vote
• HD 60 – Rodger (incumbent)
• Rodgers (44%) in a runoff with Mike Olcott (36%)
• HD 64 – Stucky (incumbent)
• Stucky is currently in the lead by about 100 votes.
• HD 91 – Klick (incumbent)
• Klick (49%) is looking to be headed to a runoff with David Lowe (39%)
Open Seats:
• HD 57
• Republican – three-way race with Richard Hayes winning over 57% of the vote. No runoff.
• HD 65
• Republican – three-way race with Kronda Thimesch winning with over 59% of the vote. No runoff.
• HD 63
• Republican - four-way race going to a runoff between Ben Bumgarner (29%) and Jeff Young (27%).
• HD 61
• Republican - runoff between Fredrick Frazier (43%) and Paul Chabot (36%).
• HD 70
• Republican - runoff between Jamee Jolly (38%) and Eric Bowlin (32%)
• Democrat – runoff between Cassandra Garcia Hernandez (34%) and Mihaela Plesa
(33%)
• HD 92
• Democrat – three-way race with Salman Bhojani (62%) wining with no runoff.
• HD 93
• Republican – three-way race going to a runoff between Nate Schatzline (44%) and Laura Hill (36%)
• HD 100
• Democrat – runoff between Sandra Crenshaw (34%) and Venton Jones (27%)
• HD 114
• Democrat – four-way race going to a runoff between Alexandra Guio (255) and John Bryant (22%)
• SD 12
• Republican – Tan Parker wins with 72% of the votes.
• Democrat – Francine Ly wins with 73% of the votes.
• CD 30
• Republican – six-way race with J. Frank Harris (33%) and James Rodgers (31%) going to a runoff.
• Democrat – nine-way race with Jasmine Crockett (48%) and Jane Hope Hamilton (18%) going to a runoff.
Unfortunately, voter turnout for the Primary was low. Although some votes are still being counted, combined voter turnout statewide was 17.4% (approximately 3 million) of registered voters.
