Dallas Wings Land in North Texas

Women's basketball has gained notoriety and respect as an exciting sport ever since Nancy Lieberman wowed crowds with her basketball skills in the 70s.

In 2016, the Tulsa Shock WNBA team announced a move to North Texas with a name change

to the Dallas Wings. The team plays at The University of Texas at Arlington and is home to players such as shooting guard Deanna Nolan, one of women's basketball's all-time leading scorers Katie Smith, Cheryl Ford, Skylar Diggins-Smith, Odyssey Sims, and Australian center Liz Cambage.

In addition to providing exciting games, the Dallas Wings are incredibly role models for girls in the North Texas community. From Youth Basketball leagues to the Lightning Legacy Readers program, which helps students develop reading skills and highlights values such as teamwork, commitment and responsibility; the Dallas Wings are making an incredibly impact on the North Texas region.
