LPGA Tournament Returns to North Texas

After a 20 year absence, the LPGA returned to North Texas in 2013 with the North Texas

LPGA Shootout held at the Las Colinas Country Club in Irving. This is the first LPGA event ever to host a pre-tournament round where high school and college athletes play for a chance to qualify for the actual LPGA event, notable for supporting the next generation of professional female golfers.

In addition to the 140 pros who teed it up at the tournament's reermgence, a total of four amateur players had the opportunity to earn spots in the field through a qualifying “Collegiate Shootout” in mid-March and a “High School Shootout” that took place the week before the LPGA tournament.


The North Texas Shootout was continues to be held in North Texas with Cheyenne Knight as the most recent tournament winner in October of 2019.
