Kimberly Walton leads LNTU Class 1 in the Regional Map activity.

Wednesday morning began with an elevator pitch activity, lead by NTC Marketing Events Manager Britton Cunningham, where participants were able to meet each other. This was followed by a regional map activity led by NTC Vice President of Communications and LNT director, Kimberly Walton.

LNT University Class 1 members were then able to hear about the many assets of North Texas from NTC President and CEO, Mabrie Jackson. Texas State Demographer Dr. Lloyd Potter discussed the changing demographics of Texas as a whole, in addition to North Texas as a region.

Lastly, Honorable Vicki Truitt, former Texas State Representative, informed participants on the increasing issue of voter apathy, as this is a challenge that hits home with the LNT University demographic – less than 1% of millennials vote in local elections.

LNT University Class 1 members have two more days of leadership development, networking and regional exploration before their graduation on Friday afternoon – stay tuned to see what’s next for our latest batch of regional leaders!
